Outdoor Sculptures
Outdoor sculptures in Istrian limestone and nature
Labin’s outdoor sculptures, most notably showcased in the Dubrova Sculpture Park, offer visitors a unique blend of art and nature on the Istrian peninsula. Spanning over 33 hectares just outside Labin, the park is a living gallery set amid lush Mediterranean greenery, where monumental works of art rise from the landscape. Founded nearly 50 years ago by sculptor Josip Diminic, Dubrova Sculpture Park is renowned for its International Sculpture Symposium, which has brought together artists from around the world since 1970.
The park features an impressive collection of sculptures crafted from local white Istrian limestone, each piece thoughtfully integrated into the natural surroundings. As you wander along the Bijela cesta (“White Road”), you’ll encounter 16 sections designed by prominent Croatian artists, each offering a different perspective on the relationship between art and environment. The Dolac Amphitheater, another highlight, serves as a venue for cultural events and performances throughout the year.
Open 24 hours a day, year-round, and with free admission, the park invites visitors to explore at their own pace—whether you’re an art lover, a family seeking a scenic stroll, or a photographer in search of inspiration. Guided tours are available for groups by appointment, adding depth to the experience. For anyone visiting Labin, the outdoor sculptures of Dubrova Sculpture Park provide a memorable and immersive way to connect with Istria’s creative spirit.
