9.1/10
#2 of 4 in Rijeka

Peek & Poke Computer Museum in Rijeka offers a hands-on journey through the history of computing, right in the city center at Ulica Ivana Grohovca 2, just a short walk from Korzo. Established in 2007 by local computer enthusiasts, the museum covers 300 square meters and features an impressive collection of over 1,000 vintage devices—some sources even mention more than 2,000—including calculators, early game consoles, and rare computers from the 1960s onward.

Visitors are encouraged to interact with many of the exhibits, making it easy to connect with the technology that shaped the digital age. Iconic machines like the Apple II, Sinclair ZX80, and the original IBM PC are on display, alongside a library of books and magazines chronicling the evolution of computing. The museum also highlights Croatia’s own contributions, such as the first European calculator produced in 1971.

Peek & Poke is open daily during the summer months (except Sundays and holidays), while winter visits are possible by appointment or on Saturdays. The atmosphere is informal and welcoming, appealing to both nostalgic adults and curious younger visitors. Whether you’re a tech enthusiast or simply interested in how computers have changed the world, the museum offers a unique perspective on the milestones of digital innovation, inviting everyone to “peek” at and “poke” the past.
