Archaeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum in Zagreb, Croatia, offers visitors a comprehensive journey through the region’s rich history, spanning over 2.5 million years. Located at Trg Nikole Šubića Zrinskog 19, the museum houses more than 75,000 artifacts that illustrate the development of material and spiritual culture in continental Croatia. The collection features significant Greek and Roman artifacts, prehistoric items, and an extensive numismatic collection, providing insight into various historical periods and civilizations that have shaped the area.

Visitors can explore displays that range from ancient pottery and jewelry to coins and statues, each telling a part of Croatia’s complex past. Admission fees are €6 for adults, €4 for students, pupils, and retirees, and €12 for families. On International Women’s Day, March 8th, admission is free. The museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm, but it is closed on Mondays and holidays. Following damage from the 2020 earthquake, the museum is undergoing repairs, so visitors should check current opening status before planning a visit.
